Metal Slug Tactics won't be released by Dotemu this year after all, the publisher announced on Twitter on Thursday morning.
Instead, in order to make it "as explosive as possible," the tactics game won't debut until some point in 2023.

Metal Slug Tactics introduces the cartoonish sidescroller to the XCOM-like world of strategy games for the first time since it was first unveiled at Summer Games Fest the previous year.
In order to kill soldiers and detonate tanks, players will command a group of individuals named Marco, Eri, Fio, and Tarma.
Leikir Studio claims that the game will be more than simply a straightforward game of tactics and have "roguelike features," however it is not yet apparent exactly how.

Fans of tactics have observed numerous delays in 2022. On Monday afternoon, Take-Two announced the postponement of Marvel's Midnight Suns but did not provide a new release date.

Additionally, Nintendo postponed the release of Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp this week owing to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which caused the original release date for the game to be canceled.
There is no set date for the release of any of these games at this time.
